Friends Janet and Teresa are moving to Florida soon. We wanted to get some going away shots of Teresa - who is just now two - before they left. Hopefully they will be back in a few years. She was supposed to dress in her princess fairy dresses and play in our magic garden, but she would just sit on Janet’s lap and mostly cry. Oh well, she’s two!

Sunday was the last day for my Pastor, Dr. Thomas C. Ryan to preach at Covenant Chapel. The church was founded almost 19 years ago, and we’ve been attending there for more than 18 years. It was a beautiful service, followed by a reception. Here are just a few shots from this morning. Covenant Chapel friends, please check back in a week or so, go to the client area, click on “View my Event” and you’ll be able to see all the images from today.
The Sermon was great as always.

and we celebrated communion as we do almost every week.

Ken led his wonderful arrangment of “This Is My Father’s World”

Pam was particularly touched by this, her favorite hymn.

of course, there was a spontaneous standing ovation at the end.

and Tom and Pam received thanks, well wishes and blessings from all of us who love them and have so appreciated their ministry over the years.

You have been the Pastor that we needed. Thank you so much, Tom!

It was interested comparing God’s night lights to man made night lights! Which do you prefer?

Emily and Pat were married June 14. I was just a guest so I snuck a few images here and there.
She is so beautiful. I know her mother would have been so proud!

Her sister, Lindsay was matron of honor:

Nephew and niece were also attendants:

A few alter shots:

and her beautiful flowers. I love calla lilies:

It was so hard to not get up and move around for other, better shots; but of course, I must honor the fact that I was a guest and NOT the official photographer.

My Aunt Pat and Uncle Jack stopped by for a brief visit a few weeks ago - wish they could have stayed longer - we went to dinner and got this shot:

Dan couldn’t be with us, but here is a recent shot of him:

I love working at Kanakuk. This was my 11th year, 12th term I’ve been there - one summer I went twice! This year, Bryan and Chris went with me to do some repair work for Linda. The theme is “Catch the Wave!” Pray for health, safety and spiritual growth for all Kampers and staff.
This is Linda - she is my boss and I love her!

Linda and friend Kim from Tennessee!

Bryan and Chris worked hard at K-Kountry, rebuilding shelving units that just didn’t work well for the nurses - I hear they are raving about them now! Good job, guys!

Great News - Dale & Britt are getting married!

Me, Britt (Oklahoma) and Betsy (Texas) after dinner at Branson Landing.

and Chris and Bryan were with us for dinner that night.

Matt let Bryan take us out on Taneycomo for a boat ride one night.

This is one of my favorite pictures EVER !

Just playing with a new lens - the Canon 50 mm f/1.8. I love it!
Sweet gum tree:

Pink and yellow Lantana:

An actual bloom! This is the third year we’ve had this hydrangia, and it’s finally blooming! Woo Hoo!

Lavender impatient with its red-orange friends!

Pink verbena.

Pink wave petunia:

Spotted geranium and bloodvine:

Purple something - I can’t remember the name, but I love it, and it is my wallpaper on my computer at work - very soothing!

If you ever have the chance, go see PERPETUAL CHANGE. Bill and the guys are high-energy performers. I enjoyed them recently at the Brooksider with some friends. It was a great show. Their next appearance is Aug. 9 - again at the Brooksider. Don’t miss them!

Bands just naturally lend themselves to photo effects
- Posterizing . . .

B&W Pixelation . . .

and Chrome!

Of course, the lighting kept changing . . .

and I’m not a fan of green men, so converting to
B&W is always an option!

You can tell they really had a good time -
even when they were blue!

Congratulations to Mandy & Derek on Friday, May 23. We enjoyed some time at Antioch Park, and then proceeded to The Pavilion in Shawnee where their ceremony and reception were held. You guys were so easy to work with - thanks so much!

The next afternoon, I had the honor of working with my colleague, Sarah Rimel at the wedding of Ally and James. Again, we were blessed with a fantastic couple that was so easy to work with. Ally is a natural, and James let go of his camera shyness after about 500 clicks!

I love this one of Ally and her dad!

She can’t take a bad picture.

This is why Canon offers wide-angle lenses!

And I wonder what Ally is thinking?

I had a great time Sunday with Sherri from Olathe North. She suggested a beautiful park on Ridgeview. Here are some of her favorite images.

And here are a few others that I’m really fond of:

Thanks for a great time at the park!

My favorite model helped me again this weekend. My final project for my B&W photo class is due soon, so when I had her at Union Station, I took some digital images as well as film. See what you think!
